Who says a sexy man has to be human?

EVOLUTION OF A WRITER

The paranormal; werewolves, vampires, ghosts, mere people, monsters, fairies, and in some cases, aliens. All the things our imaginations have cooked up over the centuries. All the things I love. From Tolkien's Frodo to Salvatore's Drizzt to Butcher's Dresden. Three decades of reading have influenced me and helped the evolution of my writing style.

In high school I was introduced to the world of the occult. I stayed awake at night reading Stephen King and John Saul. Until my dreams became nightmares and I turned to the worlds of fantasy. Where I watched the one ring tumble into the volcano with Golem and explored the underworld with the Drow. My interests crossed over to sci-fi when I read about the dragons of Pern created by Anne McCaffery. I fought the threat of thread and traveled through time, all the while riding dragon back. This led to the Worlds of Ptavv by Larry Niven who taught me my imagination has no boundaries. Space travel with Puppeteers, indestructible Protectors, and Ringworlds. My mind grew with the possibilities and politics of Frank Herbert's Dune series. Then CJ Cherryh introduced me to her universe. I would happily trade in my humanity to be Chanur.

One day a friend offered to lend me Interview with a Vampire. I was already familiar with ghosts and monsters with my King/Saul period. Never did I think I would sympathize with one. A new world opened to me and I embraced it. I inhaled everything written by Jim Butcher, Glen Cook, and Anne Rice. But something was missing for me. I hungered for those short periods where the main characters adventure stopped for them to explore a relationship. These tantalizing moments were too short and far apart.

I picked up a book by Janet Evanovich and found some of what I craved. Humor and love. I devoured her series then encountered a new genre, at least for me it was new. Paranormal romance. Laurell K. Hamilton, Angela Knight and Dara Joy all expressed those things I needed to hear and experience.

I write Paranormal with a Twist. It may be romantic, erotic, mystery, other worldly, or mixed. I may write off the beaten path but all these wonderful influences are in my back pocket and will create some magical, spine tingling, attention grabbing stories.

Welcome to my worlds.
